Why there are ads, and how to remove them
The free iPhone app shows a small banner ad at the bottom of a list or item page. NellyList Pro removes it, and the web app has no ads at all.
The free NellyList iPhone app shows one small banner ad at the bottom of the screen when you're inside a list or an item. The ads help keep NellyList free. NellyList Pro removes them, and the web app never shows ads at all.
Where you'll see an ad
On iPhone, the banner appears in two places:
- A list's page, at the bottom, below your items.
- An item's page, when you tap an item to open it.
It stays out of the way the rest of the time:
- Not on My Lists, Create with Nelly, the new list screen or Account & Settings.
- Not while you type. The banner hides whenever the keyboard is up.
- Not over menus and sheets. It hides while one is open and comes back when you close it.
- Not on pages people open from a link, like a shared copy.
There are no full-screen or video ads. The banner is the only one.
The web app has no ads
The web app at app.nellylist.com has no ads, on the free plan or with Pro.
Remove ads with Pro
- Open the menu at the top right of My Lists and tap Account & Settings.
- On the NellyList Pro card, tap Upgrade to Pro and choose a plan.

What kind of ads
NellyList only asks for ads rated for general audiences.
Early on, your iPhone may ask whether NellyList can track your activity. In some regions you'll also see a consent form. Your answer doesn't change whether you see a banner. It only changes whether the ads can be personalized. If you say no, you'll see ads that aren't based on your activity.

Do Live List members see ads?
Anyone using the free iPhone app sees the banner on list and item pages, including on a Live List. Each person's own Pro removes it for them.
An ad is covering something I need. What can I do?
The banner sits below your content, and the page leaves room for it, so you can scroll a little further to reach anything underneath. If something stays covered, email support@nellylist.com with a screenshot.
