Find your way around NellyList
My Lists holds every list and the + that makes new ones. Inside a list, the lightning bolt is Live Lists, the bell is scheduling, and ⋯ holds everything else. Tap any item to open its own page.
NellyList has three places you'll spend your time: My Lists, a list, and an item's page. Here's what's where, with links to the details.
My Lists
This is home. Each list is a card showing its icon, name and progress.
- The + button at the bottom right starts a new list: Create with Nelly, Create a new list, or on iPhone Scan a list to create it. See Create your first list.
- Pinned lists sit at the top. Swipe a card right to pin it, or left to archive or delete it.
- Filter by label: tap the My Lists title to choose what to view: all lists, Pinned, Archived, or one of your labels. See Pin, label and archive lists.
- Sort (the arrows) and the gear sit beside the title. The gear holds Organize My Lists, Reminders and Customize Display.
- The menu (☰) at the top right leads to All reminders, your Image gallery across every list, and Account & Settings.
Inside a list
Across the top, next to the back arrow:
- The lightning bolt manages the Live List: invite people, see who's on it. It fills in once the list is live. See Start a Live List.
- The bell opens Scheduling: a Recurring list that resets on a schedule, or a List reminder. See Make a list reset itself on a schedule.
- ⋯ (More options) holds everything else, described below.
On a to-do list, the progress card shows how far along you are. Tap it for what's left, what's due and what's done. See See how far along a list is.
Below it is the add field. Type and press Return to add. The + beside it adds an item, makes a New group, or on iPhone opens Scan a list. See Add items quickly.
The ⋯ menu
It's arranged in three sections, with archive and delete at the bottom:
- List actions: Select items, Schedule (whether dates, times and reminders show), Reset, Share a copy, and Edit list details.
- Organize & view: Sort, View options, Image gallery, Organize groups and New group.
- Tools: Scan a list (iPhone), Add details with Nelly, More with Nelly, Smart Groups and Spin the wheel.
Only the options that make sense for that list appear. Spin the wheel, for instance, needs at least two unchecked items, and some options belong to the list's owner only.
An item's page
Tap an item's name to open it. Everything about that one item lives here: its name, date, time and reminder, photos, Notes and a Checklist, and links. On a to-do list there's a Mark as complete button at the bottom. The page's own ⋯ can move the item to another list or group. Where are my settings?
On My Lists, tap the menu (☰) at the top right, then Account & Settings. For how My Lists looks, use the gear beside the My Lists title.
Why is the lightning bolt on every list?
So you can make any list a Live List when you're ready. Until then it's just an outline, and nothing is shared.
How do I get back to My Lists?
Tap the back arrow at the top left of any list.
