Select, move or delete several items at once
Tap ⋯ → Select items, tick the ones you want, then tap Complete, Move or Delete at the bottom. Every bulk action comes with Undo.
When you want to do the same thing to lots of items, select them first. Open the list, tap ⋯ → Select items, tick the items, and choose what to do from the bar at the bottom of the screen.
Select items
- Open the list and tap ⋯ → Select items.
- Tap each item you want. The top of the screen counts them, like 3 selected.
- To grab everything showing, tap the select-all button (a ticked box) at the top. Tap it again to clear the selection.
- When you're done, tap Cancel at the top left.
What you can do with them
The bar at the bottom shows only the actions that fit the list:
- Complete checks off every selected item at once. It appears on to-do lists.
- Move puts the selected items into a group, or takes them out with No group. It appears when the list has groups. You stay in selection mode afterward, so you can sort a whole list into several groups in one pass. See Sort a list into groups.
- Delete removes them after a quick confirmation.
Each action shows a banner with Undo, so a slip is easy to fix.
Move an item to another list
Moving between lists works one item at a time:
- Tap the item to open it.
- Tap ⋯ → Move to list… and pick the list.
The item leaves this list and joins the other one, outside any group. Its name, notes, date and ticked state go with it.
To move a whole list's worth of items, merge the lists instead.
On a Live List
Anyone on the list can select items and check them off. On a list for each person, Complete ticks the items off for you alone. If the owner has switched off Remove items or Edit items, deleting or moving doesn't appear for members. See Locked Lists.
FAQ
Can I undo a bulk delete?
Yes. Tap Undo in the banner right after you delete. The confirmation before deleting says so too.
Why is there no Move button?
Move only appears when the list has groups, and on a Live List only if the owner lets members edit items. To send items to a different list, use ⋯ → Move to list… on each item.
Why can't I select items on the grid?
On a list for each person, the columns of ticks are for ticking. Tap ⋯ → Select items and the list switches to plain rows you can select.
