Rich Lists — artwork, links & previews
Name a film, an album, a book or a game and NellyList can dress the row for it — cover art, a link that opens the right place, and a pre-filled note with the plot, synopsis or track listing. We call these Rich Lists.
The easiest way: ask Nelly
Mention what you're into and Nelly does the rest:
- "Top 10 Netflix horror films"
- "Oasis albums"
- "Books by Roald Dahl"
- "Best games on Steam"
Every item arrives with its artwork, a tap-to-open link, and a note worth reading — a film's plot, a book's synopsis, an album's track listing, or a short bio for an artist or band (from Wikipedia).
Simple prompts work best. "Oasis albums" beats a long, clever sentence. For books and music, naming the person helps: "novels by Tom Clancy" tells NellyList exactly whose covers to find.
The services NellyList knows

- Music — Spotify and Apple Music, with covers from the iTunes catalog
- Books — Goodreads for the book, Amazon for buying it
- Games — Steam, PlayStation and Xbox stores
- And more — YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, or any web link with a picture
Every link is checked before it lands on your list. When NellyList can't verify the exact page, the item links to the service's own search for that title instead — so a tap always goes somewhere real.
Music plays a preview
Music items carry a small play button on their card. A song plays its 30-second preview; an album or artist plays a preview reel — the album's tracks in order, or the artist's popular songs, each as a 30-second taste, one after another. The card shows which track is playing ("3/12 · Live Forever"); tap again to stop, or tap the card itself to open it in the streaming service.
Books link to the bookstore
Book items carry a Buy on Amazon link that lands in Amazon's Books department for that title. Purchases through these links may earn NellyList a small commission, at no extra cost to you.
Build your own rich list
You don't need Nelly for this:
- Paste a link into the add-item field — the row picks up the page's artwork and title on its own. Paste several links at once and each becomes its own item.
- Type words around the link ("Alien https://…") and your words become the item's name.
- On an item's details page, use Add a link below the notes to attach one to an existing item.
If something's missing
Occasionally an item arrives without its artwork or note — the services NellyList asks are briefly busy. Most gaps fill themselves in as you view the list. To hurry things along, open the list's ⋯ menu and tap Fill in missing info: NellyList re-checks just the incomplete items and fills in whatever it finds.
Tidy by design
Rich items skip the Date / Time / Remind fields — a film poster isn't a chore. Want to schedule one anyway? Open the item, tap ⋯, and switch Show date & reminder on. And if a list feels busy, Display → Show artwork turns the covers off for that list without touching the links.
