Start from the List Library
The List Library at nellylist.com/lists has ready-made lists to start from. Open one, tap Add to NellyList, and it becomes your own list in the app or on the web, with anything you ticked on the page already done.
The List Library is a collection of ready-made lists you can start from: things to see, read, cook or do. Browse it at nellylist.com/lists, tap Add to NellyList on one you like, and it becomes your own list that you can change however you want.
Find a list
- Go to nellylist.com/lists in any browser.
- Browse by category, or search.
- Open a list to see everything on it, with notes and links where they help.
You can tick items off right there on the page, no account needed. Your ticks are remembered in that browser, and when you add the list they come with it.
Add it to NellyList
Tap Add to NellyList. What happens next depends on where you are.
On iPhone, with the app installed. The app opens and shows the list: From the NellyList Library, with how many items it has and how many you already ticked. Tap Add to my lists, or Not now.
On iPhone, without the app. You'll see Take this list with you. Tap Get NellyList, free to install it from the App Store. Your list is saved on that page, so come back to it after installing and it will be waiting. Prefer the browser? Tap Or continue on the web. Already have the app? Tap Already have NellyList? Open it there.
On a computer. A window offers Use this list in NellyList. Point your phone's camera at the QR code to open it in the app, ticks included, or tap Continue on the web.
On the web. If you're signed in, you'll see the list and Add to my lists. If not, you'll be asked to sign in with Apple, Google or email first, and the list is added as soon as you're in.
What you get
- Your own copy. Rename it, add or remove items, and reorder it. Changes you make don't affect the library, and later library updates don't change your copy.
- Your ticks, kept. Anything you ticked on the page arrives already done.
- Not a Live List. It's yours alone until you choose to share it. See Share a copy vs. a Live List.
FAQ
I added the same list twice by accident.
NellyList notices when you already have a list from the library and offers Open it first, with Add another copy as the quieter option. If you still end up with two, delete one. You'll get an Undo for a few seconds.
Is the List Library free?
Yes. Browsing, ticking and adding library lists doesn't cost anything, and it doesn't use your Nelly allowance.
Can I find the library inside the app?
The library lives on the web at nellylist.com/lists. Anything you add from it opens in the app on iPhone.
