Make a list reset itself on a schedule

Some lists get used again and again: the morning routine, the weekly shop, the monthly bills. A recurring list unchecks itself on a schedule, so it's ready each time without you clearing it. Tap the bell on the list, choose Recurring list, and switch on Use this list again automatically.

Set it up

1. Open the list and tap the bell at the top right. The Scheduling sheet opens.
2. Tap Recurring list.
3. Switch on Use this list again automatically.
4. Under Schedule, choose Daily, Weekly or Monthly.
5. Tap Reset time to choose when it resets. It starts at 6:00 AM.

How often each one resets:

• Daily resets every day.
• Weekly resets on the days you pick. Tap the day letters to choose one or more.
• Monthly resets on the 1st of each month.

A line at the bottom sums it up, for example "Resets every Monday and Thursday at 6:00 AM". Changes save as you make them.

Recurring list only appears on lists whose items get checked off.

What happens at a reset

• Every checked item is unchecked, and so are the checklists inside items, like a recipe's ingredients.
• On a Live List, everyone's ticks clear, so the whole group starts the new round together. See Start a Live List.
• The round you just finished is saved to the list's history.

Resets run on your device. If NellyList is closed at the reset time, the list starts fresh as soon as you next open the app.

Get a heads-up

Switch on Notify me when this list resets to get a notification when the new round begins. It shows in the Reminder Center as an Auto-reset reminder, where you can turn it off with your other reminders (See and turn off all your reminders).

See how past rounds went

Tap the list's progress card and open the History tab. Last time shows how much of the previous round you finished, with the percentages for recent rounds below it. See See how far along a list is.

Reset early

Finished everything before the reset time? When a recurring list is all checked off, the finish card offers Reset Now to start a new round right away, and Edit Recurrence to change the schedule.

How do I stop a list from resetting?

Tap the bell on the list, tap Recurring list, and switch off Use this list again automatically. Your items and their ticks stay as they are.

Can a list remind me without resetting?

Yes. Use a list reminder instead: tap the bell, then List reminder. See Set reminders on items and lists.

Does a reset delete anything?

No. A reset only unchecks items. Everything on the list, including notes, photos and links, stays put.
